Race Motors

Race shortblocks are static and dynamic balanced and fully blueprinted. We dont fool around with our assembly process. Each block assembly process starts and finishes with lots of precision measurements taken every step of the way.

* Cylinder bore diameter is checked with the use of a precision dial bore gauge.
* Main and rod bearing clearances are checked with the use of precision micrometers.
* Crank end play clearance is set and checked with use of precision dial indicator.
* Rings are finished in file to fit form. Ring gap measurement is checked with ring depth's set equally from cylinder to cylinder by way of precision ring depth setting tooling.

The inside surface of the block is coated with dry graphite spray to resist surface rust from forming while motor sits in transit or in storage. We also use exclusively ARP thread lubricant on all ARP fasteners and Redline assembly lubricant on all bearings and other moving parts.

Our 2.0lt, 2.3lt and 2.4lt race shortblocks are each offered in Stage 1, Stage 2 and Stage 3 trim, making a total of 9 shortblocks combinations to choose from.

Stage 1 race shortblocks use Wiseco pistons, Eagle forged H beam rods, un-cut, polished only factory crank, ACL main bearings, and ACL rod bearings.

Stage 2 race shortblocks use Wiseco pistons, Eagle forged H beam rods, Eagle crankshaft, Mitsubishi main bearings, and Mitsubishi rod bearings.

Stage 3 race shortblocks use Wiseco pistons, Crower forged rods, Eagle crankshaft, Mitsubishi main bearings, and Mitsubishi rod bearings.

As a standard practice, the front balance shaft bearings are re-installed 180deg out to block off the oiling holes.

Race build shortblocks are not a one size fits all deal; we build them for your particular needs. Please allow 1-2 months for delivery.

Core charge for block and crank vary depending on which combination you go with.

Click on the 2.0, 2.3 or 2.4 race build tab to read more about each block build combination.
